For those who enjoy exploring independently, we operate a boat and bike hire business on the beach at our operational base at Loch Lomond Shores, Balloch.

Canoe, Kayak and Pedal Boat Hire

Fun on water! Gently paddle or pedal around the sheltered lagoon on the southern point of Loch Lomond, with stunning views towards Ben Lomond and north of Loch Lomond. Our staff monitor the designated area, patrolling in a safety boat - so you can have complete peace of mind to enjoy the experience.

The canoes, kayaks and pedal boats can all be hired for a ½ hour or 1 hour hire, at a cost of £12 for ½ an hour’s activity, or just £17 for a full hour - per boat, not per person!

Each canoe can seat up to two adults and two small children. A kayak is suitable for 2 adults, or 1 adult and 1 child, and the pedal boats are can seat up to 3 adults and 2 small children. We do have a limited number of ‘super pedal boats’, which can seat up to 3 adults and 2 large children.

A fabulous and economical way to have some fun with the family!

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note, since the hire is only available for short duration periods, all hires will be made on a first come, first served basis, and therefore is not pre-bookable.

Mountain Bike Hire

Can You Experience has a huge selection of brand new, well-maintained adult mountain bikes and children’s bikes. All adult bikes can also take trailers for small children (aged 12 months-3 years) and tag-a-longs (for children aged approximately 4-7 years). For those of you wishing to tour on your bike, we also provide front and rear panniers. Loch Lomond is a fantastic base that offers a wide selection of cycle paths and trails through spectacular scenery. Maps of the popular routes will be provided with your hire, and our friendly staff can help you plan out where you want to go - Balloch is on the popular Sustrans cycle route, which many people choose for their journey.

Please Note: All bike hire must be paid for using a credit or debit card – Switch /Delta /Visa /Mastercard.

For all credit or debit cards that are NOT of chip and pin format, we shall then require another form of ID which will be checked by the booking clerk. Acceptable forms of ID are some kind of photographic ID, or a document (e.g. utilities bill) with your name and address on it.
